Car

Stockport town centre is easily accessible from the M60 (take junctions 26, 27 or 1) and the A6 from Manchester or Buxton.

Once you're here there are several car parks within walking distance of the Market Hall. They are marked in blue on the map.

Churchgate: the nearest car park, 66 parking bays, pay & display, 113 yards from the Market Hall.

Merseyway multi-storey: 835 parking bays, pay & display, 232 yards from the Market Hall.

Sainsbury's: on Warren Street, 225 yards from the Market Hall.
Asda on Warren Street also has a car park.

Great Egerton Street: 308 parking bays, pay & display, 324 yards from the Market Hall.

Bus

Stockport Bus Station is a terminus for about 65 bus services in the Greater Manchester area. It is just over Wellington Road from Mersey Square (where many buses stop too).

From Mersey Square walk straight through Merseyway Shopping Centre, turn right and walk uphill along Market Brew (pedestrian road) to the market place. The Market Hall is directly in front of you at the top. 555 yards.

There are also bus stops on Wellington Road near the library. Turn right at the library down St Petersgate and walk right along it to the market place. The Market Hall will be on the right.

Alternatively there is a free shuttlebus which you can jump on at the bus station. This runs every 12 minutes, from 10.30am to 5.30pm on a Sunday.

Get off at the Asda on Warren Street and you can use the escalators at TKMaxx to take you uphill (go to the top floor, walk out of TKMaxx back exit into Castle Square and you'll see the Market Hall in front of you).

Or stay on the bus for the 'tour' (this will take a bit longer) and get off at the Churchgate stop which will place you directly behind the Market Hall.

Train

The Market Hall is only about 800 yards from Stockport train station.

From the train station, follow Station Road downhill, cross Wellington Road and turn left downhill. Turn right at the library into St Petersgate and keep walking along this road to the Market Place. The Market Hall will be on your right.
