Only a few generations ago, our ancestors were living through unimaginable circumstances and facing them with courage, resourcefulness and humour.  We’ve got a lot to learn from the wartime generation.  So this month we’re saluting our feisty forebears on the Homefront, with the Make Do and Mend Fair.

Pull on your best tea dress and nylons/uniform/demob suit and trilby and head for the Vintage Village to enjoy fantastic 40s-style crooners Paul Harper and Don Gentile serenading us with the big hits of the day, along with some genuine wartime military and civilian vehicles courtesy of the North West Military Vehicle Trust

And, of course, a whole platoon of top quality specialist vintage traders offering vintage clothing and accessories for ladies and gentlemen, costume jewellery, homeware, decorative items, textiles, small furniture, luggage, toys, records, books, ephemera, collectables and curiosities.  Re-using old items - in the spirit of Make Do and Mend - is the very essence of vintage!

Don't worry, you won't be rationed if you want to splurge at Stuart Thornley Cake Design's stall!

Do let us know you're coming on our Facebook event page
and feel free to invite all your chums!
